This journal is a set of static pages served from one domain. Nothing here asks you for information, so most of what follows describes things we deliberately do not do.
Nothing that identifies you. There is no account system, no login, no comment facility, no mailing list and no submission form anywhere on this site. Because no mechanism exists through which you could send us anything, we hold no names, no addresses of any kind, no telephone numbers and no message content.
We set no cookies. No page writes to local storage or session storage. There is no consent banner because nothing here requires consent. Your browser may cache the stylesheet, script and images so that later pages load faster; that cache belongs to you and is cleared through your own browser settings.
No analytics platform, tag manager, heat map, session recorder or social network pixel appears on any page. We do not know how many people read a given essay, how long they stayed, or where they came from. For a journal that publishes four times a year, this is a smaller loss than it sounds, and it means our editorial decisions cannot be quietly shaped by traffic.
There is no advertising here, no ad network code, no affiliate tracking and no sponsored placement, as described on the practice page. No commercial profile of you is created, consulted or sold because you read an essay.
Every asset on this site — the stylesheet, the script, the photographs, the emblem, the favicon — is served from this domain. No fonts, libraries, embeds, widgets or media load from an external host, so reading a page generates no request to any third party.
The hosting layer that serves these files may automatically record standard technical request data: the file requested, a timestamp, an HTTP status code and a truncated network address. This is produced by the web server for reliability and abuse prevention, is not linked to any identity, is not analysed for behavioural purposes and is rotated out on a short cycle.
Essays occasionally reference external resources. Those sites operate under their own privacy practices, and once you follow a link we have no visibility of or control over what they collect.
This journal is written for a general adult readership. Since no personal data is collected from any visitor, none is collected from minors either.
Data protection law grants rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to disclose, amend or delete. That is a deliberate choice rather than an omission.
If this site ever gains a feature that processes personal data, this notice will be rewritten before that feature appears, and the change will be described plainly rather than absorbed into a new version number.
